Mobilization of the Brazilian Church is one reason we moved to Brazil!

According to the Lausanne State of the Great Commission Report, Brazil is ranked second as the country with the largest percent of Christians just behind the USA. Just like in the USA, mobilization of the Church in Brazil is vital for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

What most people don’t know is the sad reality of Brazil’s Unreached-Unengaged People Groups — the indigenous people groups.

There are 391 indigenous people groups in Brazil. According to the Brazilian Missions Association (AMTB), out of 391 a total of 47 are considered unreached-unengaged with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A few years ago, we started a partnership with the indigenous training center called Semiraita in the suburbs of Manaus. This indigenous training center is overseen by the Brazilian Evangelical Indigenous Pastor Association (CONPLEI). Two of our staff members — Alceris & Arlene Terena — are the founders and directors of Semiraita.  The school seeks to equip indigenous believers biblically in order to strengthen and start new churches among indigenous people groups of Brazil.

Crossover Global’s partnership with Semiraita School aims to select, recruit, and deploy indigenous graduates as pioneer church planters among these 47 unreached-unengaged.

In the last 10 days our family had the opportunity to host a team from the USA who came to serve among the indigenous community in Brazil. The team served the training center by teaching 21 students and painting their cafeteria.

We are grateful for NewSpring Church who sent this team to invest in the equipping of indigenous leaders.

We are grateful for Semiraita and CONPLEI for their partnership in reaching the unreached-unengaged indigenous people groups.

We are grateful for so many of you who prayed and supported us during this time.

I hope this post brought some new information about Brazil and tools to pray for the unreached-unengaged indigenous people groups!
